WEEK 11 -November 15, 2008

Mighty Mite Division

Camarillo Black 0 vs. Simi Valley Green 22

Camarillo Cougars Mighty Mite Black, winners of the "B" Division played the Simi Valley Green...winners of the "A" Division this past Saturday. Simi Valley proved why they were the champs by handing the Cougars their only loss of the year by a score of 22-0. The usually potent Cougar Offense was held in check by a devastating defensive effort and Simi stifled every move the Cougars attempted, holding them scoreless and also stopping the normally potent running attack. Noah Swindle and Corey Pool made modest gains on the ground, but Simi Valley stopped most everything the Cougars tried.

Defensively the Cougars gave their all to no avail, the Vikings ground attack proved too potent to stop. The Cougars made several strong stands and Dominic Sheley was the stand out of the day making many solo tackles and getting through the Vikings strong Offensive line. Simi obviously scouted the Cougars well and prepared for what is normally a very strong and stingy defense by keying on and double teaming the Cougars usual stand out players. Noah Swindle and Corey Pool along with Alonzo Francisco and Dominic Sheley made strong efforts to stop the Simi Offense, but they were too strong and won the battle on the ground. Simi's very potent passing attack was held in check however, as the Cougars prepared well for this part of their game and stopped them from gaining any yards in the air.

The Cougars finished the season with a 9-1 record and an undefeated regular and Division B Championship.

ALL OTHER GAMES WERE CANCELLED DUE TO POOR AIR QUALITY.

WEEK 10 - November 8, 2008

MIGHTY MITE DIVISION

Camarillo Black 30 vs. Simi Valley Gold 14

The Camarillo Cougars Mighty Mite Black continued their undefeated season by winning the first round of playoffs against the Simi Valley Gold Vikings by a score of 30-14.

The first quarter was scoreless as Simi came out to win, but it was not to be as the Cougars kicked in to gear  and scored first on 24 yard TD run up the middle by Jace Morin....he ran into the end zone untouched by the opponents.

Noah Swindle was next to score on a scorching 43 yard TD run knocking over several opponents on his way to the end zone.  The third quarter saw Jace Morin scoring again, this time on 20 yard sweep to the outside.  Alonzo Francisco then added another touchdown, his second of the season, on a 50 yard sweep to the outside running away from all of the opponents with blistering speed.  Corey Pool, Blake Kytlica and Adam Ruiz also ran the ball well and stifled the Simi defense with their great ball movement.  The Offensive Line consisting of Cameron Welty, Cameron Foster, Jacob Oseguera, Curtis Seacord, Jonathon Mora, Georgie Carbajal, and Tyler Hatto blocked well and opened up the holes that let their teammates score and shut down the Simi Defense.

Defensively the team was led by Noah Swindle with a Quarterback sack and a forced fumble.  Corey Pool, Noah Swindle and Dominic Sheley had solo tackles, but the team defense was swarming and all defenders were in on tackles throughout the game.  Alonzo Francisco and Gio Gonzales played well from their Linebacker position.

Also playing well on both sides of the ball were Josh Middleton and Sean Banta, they made numerous tackles and did well running the ball too.

The Cougars showed why they are undefeated and worked well as a team as they have done all season.
