VEGAS-BOUND—The Camarillo Cougars Competition Cheer Team recently competed in the Jamz Golden Classic at Six Flags Magic Mountain in Valencia. The team qualified to compete in the Jamz Youth Nationals in Las Vegas next month. The team includes Courtney Atwater, Ariana Banales, Karlee Blauert, April Bryant, Maddison Cain, Genesis Calderone, Brooklynn Contreras, Morgan Ellis, Alice Fernandez, Alyssa Gonzalez, Gabrielle Gonzalez, Madison Guzman, Emma Hayden, Lily Hayden, Micaela Jensen, Mikayla Kuskie, Alycia Mathews, Jessica Mertes, Jessica O’Connor,Emily Pesicka, Jenna Pizzo, Summer Sandoval, Serena Scholle, Amelia Schumacher, Jillian Shoemaker, Riley Stark and Cailin White. The team is coached by Danyelle Davis.

The Camarillo Cougars organization is seeking potential board members.   If you have a desire to volunteer please complete the 2012 Camarillo Cougars Board Application form.  As a volunteer board member you will be expected to:

- Attend monthly meetings

- Donate 12 plus Saturdays

- Donate many weekday evenings from July through October

- Participate in fundraising events

Specific Skill Sets

- Bookkeeping

- Marketing

- Project  Management

Congratulations to Coach Ernie Davis and his SuperBowl winning Camarillo Cougars Mighty Mites for winning the 2011 GCYFL SuperBowl.  In a come from behind victory the Mighty Mites downed Simi Valley 8 to 6.

Applauds also go out to Coach Bryan Hill, finishing up a fantastic season with the Camarillo Cougars Junior Gold team.  The Junior Gold team came up just one game short of also winning a SuperBowl.

A fantastic season for both teams showing determination, hard work and Cougars Pride.

Finally, a special thank you to all you fans out there that made it Simi Valley this weekend to watch the games and cheer on our Camarillo Cougars.

The Camarillo Cougars Junior Gold team fought to the end to preserve a win vs. Simi Valley Green 20 to 18. With the victory they will advance to play Westlake November 19, 2011 in the SuperBowl.

The Camarillo Cougars Mighty Mite Black took it to Oxnard Gold in a 34 to 6 victory. With the victory they will advance to play Simi Valley Black November 19, 2011 in the SuperBowl.
